Our Story
The Bass Rattlers Association is a BASS Nation affiliated Club and we fish a twelve (12) tournament season beginning in March and ending in February each season. We primarily fish on Lake Okeechobee to include four (4) different launch points around the Lake, Clewiston, Harney Pond Ramp, Okeechobee City (Scott Driver Park) and Belle Glade.
We have a Club meeting the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Hurricane Grille restaurant in Lake Worth and then fish our monthly Club tournament the following Saturday. In each tournament all participating member compete against each other, boater and non-boater alike. The cost of each tournament is $60.00. Membership dues are $60.00 per season (March to February) for the Club and $55.00 per year (January to December) for BASS Nation (National) / Florida NJ BASS Nation (State).
The Bass Rattlers Association is also the host Club for all Florida BASS Nation South Region tournaments, the Pro-Am series and the Team series, all stepping stones to the “Big Show” the “Bassmaster Classic” where the average angler has a chance to compete against the best anglers in the world for the coveted Bassmaster Classic Championship trophy and prize money.
The Bass Rattlers Association is a social Club where our members with like interests have a chance to come together with a few common goals, fellowship, sportsmanship, conservation and competition. The Club is well established and began in 1986 with six (6) members fishing monthly tournaments where each angler put in $1.00 for a total purse of $6.00 of which $5.00 went to the first-place finisher and the angler with the big bass received $1.00. One (1) of the founding members is still involved today.
Today the Bass Rattlers Association has approximately seventy (70) members and in our 2024 / 2025 season we had an average of twenty-eight (28) anglers competing in each tournament paying out approximately $14,000.00 in winnings. We also have a rod raffle at every meeting where for a $10.00 chance anyone can win a $200.00 plus Denali Lithium rod. At the end of each season all the money in our general fund, with the exception of a small amount kept for the next season, is paid out to the top ten (10) anglers. Anglers that make the Classic come from the top eight (8) in the standings or made it via placing in the top two (2) in a “Last Chance” tournament, to compete in the Classic.
If all of the above sounds like something you want to be a part of, please reach out to us to fill out an application and send it back to one of our Board members, listed in the attached By-Laws.
